Please note that at this time these services are ONLY available in person in the Portland, OR area; I am willing to do limited travel in the region, with travel expenses paid by the client. I do not do long distance work.

Over the years, I have done a variety of spiritual workings on behalf of other people. As my path has taken me into a place where I am uniquely positioned to work independently, so I allow myself to offer my services in a more public sphere than before. Currently, I am offering appointments at the Conjure Works at 3352 SE Hawthorne in Portland. Appointments are primarily available from 7pm to 10pm all evenings. Other arrangements in time and location may be made as needed.

If you would like to schedule a free 30-minute consultation, please email me at therioshamanism (at) gmail.com.

Services Offered

In the initial consultation, I will work with you to determine what services may be helpful in your situation. Here are just a few potential options:

• Spiritual counseling
• Healing
• Rites of passage and growth
• Soul retrieval and other journeying
• Shamanic mentoring and workshops
• Shamanic artwork and ritual tools
• Seeking and working with totems and other spirit guides
• Home blessings, purifications, creation of spiritual fetiches, and other practical workings

I work with a combination of shamanic performance, in which I am the primary shamanic practitioner; and more collaborative work with the client. Services will be designed for the individual needs of each client.

Payment is done on a sliding scale according to self-reported income.

About You

During our initial consultation, I will be asking you some questions about yourself and what you would like help with. Here are a few things for you to think about:

• Why do I want to work with a shaman? How do I feel shamanism may help me?
• What is my spiritual background? How do I practice spirituality now? Where would I like to go from here spiritually?
• Who are the important people in my life? Who would I consider to be my support system?
• What are the important places in my life, indoor and outdoor?
• How do I feel about myself? Do I like myself? What are my dreams for myself?
• Are there things I would like to change in my life? What might I add to my life, or remove from it? How would I know the changes were successful? How much power do I feel I have to make these changes happen?

About Therioshamanism

If this page is your first visit to this site, here’s a little context on what I’m doing:

In 2007, I endeavored to take my years of work with animal totems and other nature spirituality, and synthesize them into a formal shamanic path. I combined my experience, old and new, with intensive research, trading notes with other shamanic practitioners, and guidance from the spirits.

Rather than taking other cultures’ shamanisms out of their original contexts, I deliberately have developed Therioshamanism with conscious awareness of my non-indigenous status and urban lifestyle. Anyone is welcome to inquire about services and other information, regardless of background.

Environmentalism is also a strong influence; I draw extensively both on theoretical concepts such as bioregionalism and ecopsychology, as well as hands-on contact with the world we share every day.

You may find out much more about this path by perusing my blog entries over the years; you are also welcome to send any questions you may have to therioshamanism (at) gmail.com.

About Me

I have been practicing nature-based spiritualities since the mid-1990s, including totemism, shamanism, and a variety of other paths. I combine a deep reverence for the natural world with ritual practice and performance, and draw on concepts from psychology, art, social justice, and natural sciences.

I earned my Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College in 2011, with an emphasis on ecopsychology and creative arts therapies. While my shamanic practice is separate from my mental health counseling practice, I do integrate counseling skills into my shamanism.

In addition to my shamanic practice, I am also an accomplished artisan, creating a variety of totemic dance costumes, ritual tools, and other sacred items. I am an author on totemism, shamanism, and related topics, with book publications through Immanion Press and Llewellyn Worldwide, as well as many article publications in print and online.

***Disclaimer: Therioshamanism and the shamanic services I offer are not replacements for medical or psychological treatment. I am happy to work in tandem with your physical and mental health care professionals.
